During the month August Torrey will start rehearsal for “Hell of a Situation”, another hilarious play written by Brian Davis.  Here’s a brief synopsis of the production, Odessa and Barry Walker have been married for twenty years. After a big argument they accuse each other of infidelity. Odessa throws Barry out of the house and she knows that she will have a tough time paying the rent so, she decides to rent her daughter Angel’s room out, since she was away at college.  Odessa realizes she can’t deal with possible tenants; an undertaker and an escaped convict. Barry shows up and he’s apparently having a difficult time finding a place to stay. He pleads with Odessa to rent him their daughter’s room. Odessa reluctantly agrees to rent Barry the room, but realizes it was a mistake when he invites his new girlfriend over. Odessa finally meets a new man; a rich and successful lawyer. She entertains him at her home, but Barry does everything that he can to disrupt their relationship. Finally, Odessa has had enough and gets the aid of Sandy, Smitty’s wife to help evict Barry from the room because she made him sign a lease and to complicate matters even worse, the Walkers radical daughter angel gets kicked out of school for leading a protest, demanding that the university take down their statue of George Washington and put up a statue of Malcolm X. She returns home, with her boyfriend in tow, and she wants her room back. A family reunion, this is not. This is a hell of a situation.
